The complexity of designing a connected experience.
Below is an example of how I designed the function of zooming in and out of a  telescope on your phone for the user in the loop - Camilo
When I was prototyping the controls behind Stargazer (the app), one of the trickiest actions I had to simplify was the ability to zoom in/out and focus on the physical telescope. As a designer, I needed to loop in the functionality of a telsecope (zoom in/out) into a mobile and tablet application. I chose to use the stargazer symbol of a unity circle to communicate to a user how they can zoom in and out of their physical telescope from their phone. I was inspired by the function of an oven, where I noticed the simplicity behind switching levels of heat with a notch. It tells the user what level of heat they chose and gives easy access to edit their choice. I translated this function to a user experince.
I prioritized communication and support, as this function may be new to users, where I added tips and tricks to show the user what they need to do to control their tlesecope.
